En esta ocasión, Iñárritu, Lubezki y Martín Hernández han acaparado toda la atención de los mexicanos en las secciones de Mejor Director, Mejor Fotografía y Mejor Edición de Sonido. Sin embargo, debemos resaltar la importancia de un trabajo del Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica que aparece nominado en Mejor Cortometraje Documental. Se trata de La Parka, dirigida por el nicaragüense Gabriel Serra (quien pertenece a esa generación tan especial de CeCeCeros denominada «Los Pirrurris»).
