Los Globos de Oro 2016 se celebraron esta noche en Hollywood, California, conducidos por el comediante británico Ricky Gervais. La noche tuvo varias sorpresas ya que se convirtió en una nueva celebración para el mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, con su nuevo filme The Revenant (El Renacido, que estrena en México a finales de enero) llevándose tres de los premios más importantes: Mejor Película Drama, Mejor Director y Mejor Actor Drama (para Leonardo DiCaprio).
The Martian, catalogada como comedia por los Globos de Oro (algo con lo que ni Ridley Scott estuvo muy de acuerdo), también tuvo una memorable noche al ganar por Mejor Película Comedia y Mejor Actor Comedia (premio de Matt Damon). Jennifer Lawrence, Brie Larson, Ennio Morricone (representado por Quentin Tarantino) y Sylvester Stallone también brillaron en las categorías de cine.
Por su parte, la serie Mozart in the Jungle conquistó un par de categorías importantes: Mejor Serie Comedia y Mejor Actor Comedia, este último gracias a Gael García Bernal. La otra serie que se llevó más de un reconocimiento fue Mr. Robot, elegida como Mejor Serie Drama por encima de productos mucho más populares como Game of Thrones y Narcos.
